About

Experienced graphic designer using core design principles across different media to enhance communication and drive decision-making.

Throughout my career I have adapted to changing needs and new opportunities as a designer. Contract work for companies like Missouri Gateway Green Building Council, Brown Shoe, RGA, A.G. Edwards and Spectrum Brands has expanded my professional influences beyond permanent positions at BJC HealthCare, Colliers, and Missouri Foundation for Health. I have gained a deep understanding of the value of brand, graphic standards and communicating using the natural language of a client’s organization.

At Missouri Foundation for Health I aided in rebuilding the internal capacity of the Communications department, guiding the addition to the creative team of a writer/editor and a graphic designer. In 2015 the foundation launched a new communication strategy including a new logo and messaging developed in collaboration with a local design agency.

I have experienced the ability of graphic design to transform information and data into messages that can change minds, or even save lives. By becoming a design teacher, I am able to share this with the next generation of creative thinkers, and give them tools that can not only solve a client’s problems but can be used to solve the challenges these high school students face as they transition into college and careers.

Creative problem-solving is part of every day, whether I’m working with a team to build a race car or designing the perfect kitchen from the wall studs out. The elements of time, budget and quality are always in play.

Keeping up with the latest design software is important. I work with the Adobe Creative Cloud and the usual MS Office software on Mac and Windows platforms.
